Off Hand Glass Creations by Angelo Rossi
Born in Burano, Venice, Angelo Rossi
acquired his extensive glass art skills from the Italian masters.
For many years, he has had his own art glass studio near Niagara
Falls, Canada, and many glass collectors came to know and
appreciate his fine work. During his time at Fenton, Angelo
displayed his confidence and creativity daily. He was proud of his
skills and enjoyed hearing visitors to our plant say WOW!
as they watched him work. Angelo’s unique art glass creations
range from the classic to the whimsical, but all are emphatic
expressions of his intense passion for glass. “When I finish the
piece,” Angelo says, “I feel I have just started a new
conversation with someone!”
During his stay at Fenton Art Glass in 2003-2005, Angelo imparted
many of his skills to Fenton glassworkers, and he has continued to
enhance his own reputation for developing distinctive art glass
creations. We located a very limited quantity of Rossi creations
and are pleased to offer these as online specials. . . in many
cases, only one of each piece is available. Here's your chance to

These remarkable off hand
pieces were made by Angelo Rossi at Fenton Art Glass
in 2003-2005. This interesting group of
glass fruits and glass vegetables made by Angelo were all sample
items. They were saved and put aside by factory manager Tom Fenton
(now retired). We recently found these Angelo creations in a
storage area, and Tom stopped by and engraved some of the pieces
of fruit or vegetable: "Angelo Rossi by Tom Fenton".

Hand Bowls. . .
Made offhand by glass artisan Angelo
Rossi, this wonderful bowl is about 12" in diameter and stands
about 5-1/4" tall. Starting with a gather of Milk Glass, Angelo
used crushed glass called frit to create the various colors (blue,
brown, green orange, pink, purple, and yellow) that swirl together
for a marvelous effect.
A layer of pure crystal on the exterior of the bowl intensifies
the colors, and the gracefully cupped rim reflects Angelo's skill
as a glassmaker. This bowl was personally signed ("Angelo Rossi")
on the underside, and there is also an engraved script "F"
(designating "Fenton") as well as an "I" (to designate "internet
special").

This piece REALLY makes a
statement! Simply a masterpiece of the glassmaker's art,
this bowl is over 15" dia. and about 6-1/4" tall. Starting
with
a gather of Milk Glass, Angelo used crushed glass called
frit to create the various colors (blue, brown, green,
orange, pink, purple, and yellow) that swirl together on
both the inside and the outside for a marvelous effect. A
layer of pure crystal on the exterior of the bowl
intensifies the colors, and the gracefully cupped rim
reflects Angelo's skill as a glassmaker. The base of the
bowl is lightly ground so that it will sit level.

Glass vase. The contemporary style of glass artisan Angelo Rossi
is a wonder to behold! This vase features a hand-applied trim in
light blue glass and is approximately 15" tall. Make a statement
