The Connoisseur Collection from Fenton USA showcases the
best of
the best from the glass artisans at Fenton Art Glass. We first
introduced this numbered and limited edition collection in 1983
as
"a very special offering for those who love glass and desire the
unique."
We continue to strive
for the unique by showcasing the skills of our glassworkers and
the talents of our decoration designers and artists. For our 2010 Connoisseur Collection,
we included two beautiful pieces handcrafted in Rosalene glass:
the Apple Delight Pitcher and the Footed Ogee Covered
Comport. Rosalene contains pure gold in the batch, and our
glassworkers coax the pink tone from within the molten glass using
special reheating techniques.
Michelle Kibbe's Apple Delight
design on the Apple Tree Pitcher features handpainted
highlights on the stems, leaves and apples with gold bands around
the top and bottom. The Apple Tree Pitcher mould originated around
1910-1912. The pitcher is limited to 250 pieces, and each
pitcher is signed by the artist who painted it.
The beautiful 9-3/4'' Footed Ogee
Covered Comport is also handcrafted in Rosalene glass. Imagine our
delight when we discovered a Fenton mould made more than 35 years
ago that had been overlooked and never used in regular production!
The ogee curve of Gothic architecture was a favorite of Frank M.
Fenton, and he worked with our mouldmakers to design the
distinctive edge of this comport. Frank also enjoyed Rosalene
glass, and, in the 1970s, he urged Fenton chemists to recreate
this wonderful opaque color that originated about 1900. This
Covered Comport is limited to 450 pieces.

have a limited supply of a Teardrop Covered Candy Box. Handcrafted
in our rich, Ruby glass, the
box is cased over (known as overlay) with Milk Glass. For more
than half a century, overlay colors have been produced by Fenton.
Typically, a core of Milk Glass is gathered and shaped by a
skilled glassworker called a Blocker. With this particular Candy
Box, a layer of Ruby glass was gathered over the
Milk Glass. Our glass technologists assured that the two layers of
glass would match perfectly. As you can see, the results are
beautiful to behold! This elegant 6'' Teardrop Candy Box needs no
