This beautiful 6'' Temple Jar is handcrafted in our fabulous Favrene glass with a Black Lid. The handpainted design, by Stacy Williams, features a delicate golden butterfly amongst flowers. Each handpainted Temple Jar is signed by the talented Fenton artist who completed it.

As with many handmade glasses, Fenton's Favrene is not a recent invention. It is Fenton's unique version of two early glasses - Tiffany's Favrile and Steuben's Blue Aurene. The name Favrene was chosen to illustrate its roots in these two beautiful glasses.

The challenges involved in creating Favrene glass limits the production numbers... adding to the rarity and collectibility of this very special glass. The Favrene batch contains Cobalt and previous metals. This batch must be worked under exacting conditions of both heat and oxygen to coax out the silvery color. Once the base color is established, the piece is then sprayed with stannous chloride to create the nuances of color on the glass. Variations of iridescence ranging from gold to silver to blue result from this spray. Another trip to the flame craes the permanent satin finish, and our talented crafted use their reheating skills in this process.

Fenton's Favrene was first introduced in the 1991 Connoisseur Collection. These Fenton Favrene pieces are sure to become family heirlooms!
