Our Honor Collection for 2004 is a tribute to Fenton chemist Paul Rosenthal. Following in the footsteps of his father, Jacob Rosenthal (Fenton's first factory manager and chemist), Paul developed many distinctive transparent and opaque Fenton glass colors in a career that ended with his retirement in 1949. Topaz Opalescent combines two rare glassmaking elements - depleted uranium and bone ash - to create a vivid yellow with soft vanilla accents. Frances Burton's floral motif Autumn Beauty complements the brilliance of this remarkable and popular glass color. Inscribed with the signature of Frank M. Fenton.
