This handsome animal is formed from a gather of Milk Glass rolled in Cobalt blue frit before being covered with a layer of Crystal glass. Black glass threads are then applied and pulled to create a feathered effect. A black glass trunk and head are handshaped with special tools. The finishing touch is the application of two lime green eyes and a slight pinch to replicate the elephant's tiny tail. These details are a fine representation of Fenton's future in the art of off hand glassmaking. Each piece is numbered and inscribed with Tom Fenton's signature in addition to bearing the Centennial Collection logo.
