The intense glow of Fenton’s
furnaces is captured forever in the fabulous Ruby Amberina
Stretch. Fenton produced Stretch glass from 1917 through the
1920’s in the glamorous and elegant art deco style of the day;
vintage items are treasured today as timeless classics. During
manufacturing the pieces are sprayed with a mixture of
metallic salts before being reheated and brought to their
final shape. This finishing process often creates a myriad of
striations and even somewhat of a rough texture in the
iridescent surface, particularly at the edges of the piece.
The iridescence and luster is part of the magic and mystery of
Ruby Amberina Stretch glass, a glass that glows with life and
color.
Fenton assembled a selection of functional holiday decorating
and entertaining pieces in a display just right for a store
window, entry table or end cap. Red and gold is a home décor
staple, adding a touch of elegance through the holidays. A
gold framed mirror serves as a base, while golden wrapped
packages; coasters and pillar candle holders all serve as
risers. A strategically aimed spotlight can really play up the
sparkle and shine of the glass. To add height and visual
interest, use holiday garland or French ribbon.
