Those who have heard the distinctive "bobwhite! bobwhite!" call surely recall the excitement they felt. With our 11.5" Opal Satin Vase as her glass canvas, Michelle Kibbe created this wonderful winter landscape. Michelle's design features a trio of Bobwhite Quail, one on the ground and two in flight. The hand painted details on the birds are realistic . . . every brushstroke meticulously executed. The scene also includes rustic fence posts and golden-brown scrub grass that encircles the vase. Michelle created a darkening winter sky for the background.

Did you know. . . Commonly referred to as the "King of native American game birds", the ground-dwelling Bobwhite resembles a chicken. When sensing danger, the bird will camouflage itself by standing still in its place, making it particularly difficult for predators to spot it. Bobwhites are not good fliers, flying short distances. An average flight lasts only for 5.1 seconds. However, their strong legs help them quickly walk or run away from danger. Each Bobwhite Quail Vase is $220.

Cast a soft glow in any room with this beautiful Lighthouse Fairy Light. This 8" Lighthouse was handcrafted in Opal Satin glass (5" base and 3" crystal top). Michelle Kibbe's hand painted scene features a ruby-throated hummingbird seeking nectar from stylized trumpet-vine flowers in lush pink hues. Other flowers encircle the base as accents. Note the delicate vine-green colored ring around the bottom. You'll also receive a battery operated tea light that fits perfectly on the top of the base in a recessed area measuring approximately 1-1/5" diameter. Each Stylized Floral & Hummingbird Lighthouse Fairy Light is $130.

Kim Barley has created a marvelous Halloween-themed design that is sure to please! This Bridesmaid Doll Figurine (6.75") is handcrafted in Orange glass with a satin finish. Kim added fun and whimsical Halloween details: smiling jack-o-lanterns, a black cat, witch's hat, spooky house, and flying bats in a starry night background. The arms of the figurine are painted to resemble black lace and note the black ribbon with spidery tendrils at the throat! Each All Hallow's Eve Bridesmaid Doll Figurine is $120 and limited to 18. Sorry, this figurine is not guaranteed for Halloween delivery. You can save it for next season!

Pre-orders for the Bobwhite Quail Vase, Stylized Floral & Hummingbird Lighthouse Fairy Light and All Hallow's Eve Bridesmaid Doll Figurine will be accepted until midnight (ET) on Monday, October 22, 2018.

Michelle Kibbe chose this unique creature for her hand painted scene on this 7" Cobalt Iceberg Paperweight. This stylized white-footed mouse appears to be checking out his acorn stash. Perhaps he is gathering these acorns to get him through the winter! Each Stylized White-Footed Mouse Iceberg Paperweight is $100.

Did you know. . .  White-footed mice are good climbers and, like squirrels, often store nuts and seeds in tree cavities.

A distinctive behavior of the white-footed mouse is the drumming on a hollow reed or a dry leaf with its front paws to produce a long, musical buzzing.

Our 9" Opal Satin Vase provides the perfect canvas for Robin Spindler's scene of an ice skating couple. Dressed warmly in clothing from another era, the young man appears to be encouraging his female companion, who looks to be a little more tentative on the ice. Robin's hand painted details are marvelous with the thicker white detail lines lending a unique look to the design. She created a wonderful winter landscape of birch trees and pines. Note the birds flying in the wintry sky above the couple.

Did you know. . . Ice skating costumes have pushed the boundaries of what is considered modest throughout history. Even in the 1930s, skaters (both male and female) were redefining what was sexy by showing off their "risque" outfits on the ice. The outfits on Robin's vase are definitely on the more modest side of fashion.

Each Vintage Skaters Vase is $150.

Fenton designer Robin Spindler created colorful attire for "Holly and Jolly" with bright raspberry for Holly's cape and hat and a brilliant blue hue for Jolly's scarf and earmuffs. Robin added holly sprig accents to create just the right look. Holly & Jolly Frosty Friends will make a great companion set for the Vintage Skaters Vase!

Since their debut in the year 2000, the Fenton Snow People have delighted collectors and continued to add holiday cheer to many, many homes. Our Snowman and Snowlady figurines. and, along with the Snowman Fairy Light, were designed by Fenton sculptor Jon Saffell.

They’ve been in a grouping called "Frosty Friends" for the past several years. We've named this couple Holly (3.75") and Jolly (4") and we're sure you'll invite them home for your tabletop display.

The Holly & Jolly Frosty Friends Snow Couple Set is $130.

Pre-orders for the Stylized White-Footed Mouse Iceberg Paperweight, Vintage Skaters Vase and Holly & Jolly Frosty Friends Snow Couple Set will be accepted until midnight (ET) on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. Please contact Fenton Gift Shop at 1-800-319-7793, ext. 342 or email: and include the names of the items you want to purchase in the subject line as well as your full name and daytime phone number so we may follow-up on your request.

Fenton Art Glass eBay Auctions. . .

Here's your opportunity to own a "one-of-a-kind" art glass creation or an item from Fenton's 112+ year history through our weekly eBay auctions. These Fenton Art Glass eBay auctions will end at 2 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday, October 24. Items featured this week. . .

This unique offhand 9" Mosaic glass vase was created by glass artisan Dave Fetty. Dave joined Fenton Art Glass in 1965, and worked closely with artisan Robert Barber in the mid-1970s, designing and making some of Fenton's first limited edition pieces. He retired in 1998 but continued to contribute his design and glassmaking talents as a visiting artist at other glass manufacturers. Dave's unique offhand creations, such as this Mosaic Vase, are tributes to American art glass. This Mosaic vase has an iridized finish inside and a multi-color iridized finish outside. It began with a solid color glass, either black or cobalt, and was then covered in brightly colored glass chips, called frit. The piece was then reheated. Due to the random nature of the chip application, no two pieces are the same, making each vase a unique example of the glassmaker's artistry. This vase has Dave Fetty's personal stamp on the bottom, as well as his signature.

These glass rods are color samples of Fenton glass from the 1960s. If you like Fenton “Chocolate” glass, you’ll love this remarkable selection of glass rod color samples. All of these glass rod color samples are from the 1960s, when chemist Charles Goe was seeking to recreate the Chocolate glass made in the earliest years of the Twentieth Century. There are 14 glass rod color samples here, and the photos show the range of color, from light coffee with cream to rich, dark chocolate … and almost every shade in between! The rods were made under the direction of glass chemist “Charlie” Goe, who was employed at the Fenton Art Glass Co. In the 1960s, company president Frank M. Fenton was very interested in having Fenton recreate historic glass colors such as Burmese from the 1880s, Bastow’s opaque pink from about 1900, and Jacob Rosenthal’s Chocolate from the earliest years of the twentieth century. Chocolate glass is very difficult to create, and it took many years of experimentation and test melts in order to get it right! These glass rods were made by gathering a small quantity of glass from a “test pot” on a punty and rolling it on a steel plate called a marver. Because of the process used to make them, the rods will vary somewhat in length and in diameter; typically, each rod is slightly more than 2-1/2” long and about 3/8” in diameter. Each rod has a paper label that records a coded reference for the glass batch, the specific date (month, day and year), and whether the glass is unfinished (”unfin”) or finished (“fin”). Unfinished means that the molten glass was taken from the pot, and the rod was created immediately. Finished means that the glass was taken from the pot, allowed to chill briefly, and subsequently reheated before creating the rod.

Award-winning Fenton designer Robin Spindler has created some great works featuring horses, and we think this one-of-a-kind hand painted paperweight in pure crystal glass is truly remarkable. By hand painting on both sides of the crystal paperweight, Robin achieved a splendid three-dimensional effect that adds to the appeal of these wonderful horses. Her scene depicts a mare and her foal. Robin added some extra “sparkle” with three pink gemstone accents to the foal’s bridle. The colors, textures and details are true to life, and every brushstroke is meticulously done. This one-of-a-kind hand painted crystal paperweight (7" tall, 5.75" wide at base) is identified, signed and dated on the underside: "Fenton 2018 OOAK hand painted by J. K. Spindler".
These Fenton Art Glass eBay auctions will end at 2 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.
