Fenton designers showcase their patriotic spirit with these wonderful red, white and blue designs! Our 9.75" Vase and 7" Bridesmaid Doll Figurine in Opal Satin feature vibrant stripes
and stars designed by Michelle Kibbe. The head of a Bald Eagle graces the front of the vase with a subtle silhouette of the Liberty Bell on the back side. Star and pinstripe accents complete the look of this beautiful vase.

The doll is adorned in a lovely blue and white gown with blue and white striped ruffles that complement the design on the vase. The bouquet is made up of lovely red, white and blue ribbons and stars. Note the fireworks on the skirt and the checkered bow. Each Liberty Bell 'n Eagle Vase is $150. Each Starry Fireworks Bridesmaid Doll Figurine is $115.

Below: Our smiling 5.75" Opal Satin Ghost Figurine shows a patriotic side! Kim Barley's hand painted "I Y America" design reflects her patriotic pride from the hand lettering on the front and back and golden star to the red and blue firework bursts and border of stars. Kim airbrushed the entire figurine in layers of red, white and blue. Each I Y America Ghost Figurine is $120.

The Alley Cat is among the most collectible items in Fenton history, and the mould for this piece originated at the United States Glass Co. in Ohio during the 1920s and was purchased by Fenton Art Glass about 40 years later. The light jade green color was made at Mosser Glass and is called "Jadeite". This 11" Alley Cat features a marvelous scene by Robin Spindler of a Rooster, hen and chicks. The hand painted details encircle the figurine and are meticulously executed. Robin creatively used the "shape" of this figurine as part of her design. Note those large blue eyes and the signature mischievous grin! Each Rooster Family Alley Cat Figurine is $195 and limited to 17.

Made by Mosser Glass, this Crystal Iceberg Paperweight (5.5" wide
x 7" tall) provides a wonderful canvas for Robin Spindler's hand painted scene of fledgling bluebirds being treated to a meal from their father. Robin hand painted both sides of this Crystal Iceberg Paperweight to create a marvelous three-dimensional effect. You can see her results in the close-up photos shown here. Note the leafy tree branches, and the bodies of the male bluebird and the fledglings.

Did you know. . .
The state bird of Missouri and New York, the Eastern Bluebird is a skilled flyer with superior vision. Bluebirds can spot an insect on the ground from 60 feet away. Most fledglings, or baby birds, leave the nest about three weeks after hatching, but they may also stay and help their parents with the next batch of eggs. Each Bluebird Nest Iceberg Paperweight is $100 and limited to 13.

Kim Barley's whimsical hand painted scene on our 3.75" Opal Satin Egg on Stand is sure to bring a smile to one and all! The details are marvelous... from the large daisies and petite purple flowers to the gray tiger cat and distinctive paw prints! The cat appears to be observing a ladybug and is perhaps ready to pounce on its prey!

American glass manufacturers have produced eggs since the early 1900s, some years after covered hen boxes became popular. The Fenton Art Glass "5140" Egg on Stand was produced in many colors and patterns during the 1970s and 80s. Fenton began their Collectible Eggs series in 1991. Each Tabby Tiger Cat Egg on Stand Figurine is $75.

Pre-orders for the  Rooster Family Alley Cat, Bluebird Nest Iceberg Paperweight and Tabby Tiger Cat Egg on Stand will be accepted until midnight (ET) on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. To pre-order these Limited Editions, please contact Fenton Gift Shop at 1-800-319-7793, ext. 342 or email purchasing@fentongiftshop.com and include the names of the items you want to purchase in the subject line as well as your full name and daytime phone number. Items featured this week. . .

This wonderful one-of-a-kind hand painted Grape and Cable tobacco jar was hand painted by Fenton artist Michelle Kibbe. The jar is recently produced Opal Satin glass, but the cover is Purple Slag from the 1970s! Michelle's creativity and talents has brought them together in stunning fashion. As you can see in the accompanying photos, she combined careful airbrushing with meticulous hand painting to develop a truly remarkable marriage of colors! The green, blue, and purple hues blend together beautifully, and the overall effect is simply stunning. The Fenton Grape and Cable tobacco jar was inspired by a similar item produced more than 100 years ago by Harry Northwood in Wheeling, W. Va. Fenton's version was first made in the late 1960s, and it soon became a collector favorite.

Here's a unique opportunity to acquire some Fenton history! These glass rods are color samples of Fenton glass from the 1960s. The rods were made under the direction of glass chemist Charles “Charlie” Goe, who was employed at Fenton from September 1, 1960 until his death at age 40 in October 1969. Charlie was a research chemist. In the 1960s, company president Frank M. Fenton was interested in having Fenton recreate historic glass colors such as Burmese from the 1880s, Bastow’s opaque pink from about 1900, and Jacob Rosenthal’s Chocolate from the earliest years of the twentieth century. Goe worked on developing these glass colors during his time at Fenton, and his greatest achievements were creating formulas for Fenton’s Burmese glass and Rosalene glass. This assortment of 20 glass rod color samples includes the following: various hues of Chocolate (3), various hues of Burmese (3), Jonquil (1), Pekin Blue (1), Rosalene (1), opaque dark green (1), opaque red (1), various shades of blue (2), various shades of ruby (3), various shades of amber (2), and various shades of yellow (2). These glass rods were made by gathering a small quantity of glass from a “test pot” on a punty and rolling it on a steel plate called a marver. Because of the process used to make them, the rods will vary somewhat in length and in diameter; typically, each rod is slightly more than 2-1/2” long and about 1/4" to 3/8” in diameter. Each rod has a paper label that records a coded reference for the glass batch, the specific date (month, day and year), and whether the glass is unfinished (”unfin”) or finished (“fin”).
Unfinished means that the molten glass was taken from the pot, and the rod was created immediately. Finished means that the glass was taken from the pot, allowed to chill briefly, and subsequently reheated before creating the rod.

Fenton artist Kim Barley enjoys Halloween celebrations, and we think that this one-of-a-kind hand painted doll figurine (7" tall) is one of her very best creations. The vivid opaque orange glass (made by Mosser using the original Fenton mould) is the perfect background for Kim's hand painted depictions of pumpkins, bats, a scary two-eared (or are they horns?) something, etc. etc. All the details are meticulously done, and the hand painted black clothing and hair contrast beautifully with the colored glass to create an outstanding effect. Note the “bat-winged” shaped top and the various accents and floral bouquet, too!
These Fenton Art Glass eBay auctions will end at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13th, 2018.
