Fenton USA Presents. . . Fabulous Fairy Lights!

7-1/2'' Fairy Light with Milk Glass base
and Green Shade, $69.50

Three-piece 7-1/2'' Fairy Light
in Burmese, $189.50

Fairy Lights have been highly collectible since Victorian times. Originally produced in the mid-1800s as functional "night lights" to cast a soft glow in hallways and nurseries, these charming small candle lamps increased in popularity. Manufacturers soon began selling Fairy Lights as decorative accents in a variety of shapes and colors. Fenton began making Fairy Lights in 1953 and they have become very popular with collectors.

They are perfect accent pieces and will cast a soft, warm glow in any room. Shown here are a few selections from the limited quantity of Fairy Lights in our remaining glass inventory. The Beaded Fairy Light with green shade shown features a handpainted floral design. The base, handcrafted in Milk Glass, has a raised floral motif as well. Burmese, a classic Fenton color, provides the perfect canvas for Michelle Kibbe's delicate handpainted butterfly design on our three-piece Fairy Light.

7-1/2'' Fairy Light in Emerald Green, $69.50

The Mary Gregory painting style first appeared more than 100 years ago as Painted Cameo.
The skilled artisans at Fenton continued this challenging decorating technique, in which glass is painted with white enamel, resulting in raised details which create an image. Shown at right is our jewel-toned Emerald Green Fairy Light, featuring a Cat's Cradle design by Kim Barley. Kim's design shows a young girl playing with her kitten.
