Three generations of Ron Dick's
family have been glassworkers at Fenton. His grandfather, Ralph Dick, was a
gatherer, and his father, Robert, was a presser and later a supervisor. With
41 years experience as a presser, Ron has recently added the distinction of
being a skilled trainer. "I like the challenge of helping our glassworkers
develop and learn new skills." Ron had the opportunity to learn new skills
himself when he traveled to France in 1990 to work with a perfume bottle
maker. He enjoyed the challenge of overcoming the language barrier and
learning new techniques.
Ron and his wife Pam, a Fenton
Gift Shop employee, are active in the local "Fenton Finders" collector club.
Their family includes daughter Heather and three sons: Ryan (a shipping
clerk at Fenton), Austin and Travis.
