Fenton Art Glass to be
featured on "Dirty Jobs" Discovery Channel TV Show!
In November 2008,
Fenton employees participated in filming an episode of
the Discovery Channel television show Dirty Jobs. We've
received word that our show will air on November 10th.
Click here for a sneak peek of
the episode! The clip shows Fenton employee Jon Anderson demonstrating
how to make a swung vase. Show host Mike Rowe then tried his
hand at it!
Mike tried his hand at several jobs, including
decorating a glass t-shirt paperweight, gathering and warming in. He
even created an offhand piece under the guidance of Fenton
craftsman
Frank Workman. His ''dirtiest'' job, however, was ''ladling'' or
cleaning out the glass tank at the end of the day to prepare it for
the next glass batch. The tank temperature was near 2400 degrees
during the process. Rowe said he gained a new appreciation for a
''dirty job'' that has the end result of a beautiful work of art.
We also
have Fenton USA products made exclusively for Mike Rowe.
Click here for details on these
pieces, including three special paperweights created for mikeroweWORKS.

Fenton Glassmaking School
from our recent Fenton Glassmaking School held at the Fenton Art Glass
factory in Williamstown, WV. Under the guiding hands of glass

handcrafted work of art.
